I love blogging.

For some reason, I always want to update this blog. Like, all the time. It's therapeutic. It's a bit like writing in a diary, but so much less effort. I've never been able to keep up with diaries and I always give up after a few days. Vlogging is another outlet, but the whole process (filming, editing and uploading) takes so much time and effort that it just isn't practical to do it on a regular basis. I'm sure it'd be easier if I had better technology at my disposal, but I'm poor so I'm stuck with my beloved but not exactly fantastic video camera and some really dodgy editing software. I don't know how all those crazy people managed to complete VEDA, I could never have done it.

Speaking of vlogging, it's the first anniversary of my first YouTube video tomorrow. I wanted to make a really good video to commemorate this, but I just don't have the time. Or the ideas. So it looks like I'll have to do something even better for next year...when I'll be right in the middle of my A2 exams. Which are even more important than AS's. Great.

Anyway, revision calls. Media exam tomorrow = not fun times

I hate sand

It gets everywhere and it scrapes up your feet and it makes your shoes rub and...yeah, I don't like sand.

But I like the beach, and the sun, and my friends, and the smell of sun cream, and sunbathing on rocks.

I don't like having to leave early to go home and revise.

But I do like sitting in the park with my other friend and talking about a show that we both went to see in London which was the best thing we've ever seen (Spring Awakening. Google it).

I don't like the fact that I was meant to be writing notes about said show for my Drama exam which I am meant to be typing up now.

I also don't like the fact that my shoulders are really red. And not in a good, 'we're-going-to-tan-really-well' kind of way. In a bad, 'we're-going-to-burn-and-hurt-you' kind of way.

All in all, a mixed day. But mostly good. Even the bad bits weren't too bad.

But now my feet hurt.

I don't want to go back to school on Monday.

Sorry for this really random blog...I promise I'll try and do some better ones soon.

Bye

The one with no title (my brain is not in the mood for originality)

Today was marginally better than yesterday, despite the fact that I didn't get to go to the museum with my friends.

I'm going to ignore the morning, because that was made up of me not being able to focus on Drama essays, and then get a motivational talk from my friend Natalie in the year above who has convinved me that no matter how badly I think I'm going to fail my British History exam on Tuesday, I might as well revise and at least try not to fail.

Then this afternoon, I lay in the garden and read. It was lovely, but now my clothes smell of grass. This is partly from just lying on it, and partly because it turns out while I was reading, I was subconsciously ripped up the grass around me. I didn't even notice until the sun went behind the house and I got up to go in. There was dead grass everywhere and a bald patch next to where I'd been lying. Oops...

And now this evening, I'm going to a party which will be fun because I'll get to see a lot of people I haven't seen for ages. But before then, I have to go and find something to wear.

And even though I'm pretty sure they won't see this: HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE AND SHAY!!!! (L)

Well, would you look at that!

Two blog posts in one day! Aren't you lucky?

...Not really.

Anyway, my day has not been great...mediocre at best. All my friends went shopping to Liverpool without me, 'cause I had work to do. And I didn't get my work done because I couldn't concentrate. And as a result, I probably won't be able to go to the museum with them tomorrow. And I love the museum.

Also today, I walked up to my other friend's house to return a dress I borrowed for a party two weeks ago (word of warning: don't lend things to me. You will be lucky to get them back within a month). And I got beeped at twice on the way there. This usually only happens when I am wearing a dress or skirt, or heels. But I wasn't. I was wearing the one pair of tracksuit pants I own (and you know I'm just not in the mood when I leave the house wearing them...most people don't even know I own them) and a long-sleeved top. Nothing even remotely provocative.

And now my lovely friend Ellie who has got me some kind of present from LeakyCon but I don't know what it is, has started posting her videos and photos on Facebook. This makes me jealous.

I strongly dislike the rain.

It's true.

For the second time in a short space of time, I was caught in a crazy rainstorm when I was completely unprepared.

Picture the scene: I'm going out to see the Hannah Montana movie with my friends. On my way out the door, I realised that I didn't have my purse. So I spent a frantic ten minutes emptying out my school bag and ringing my mum to see if she knew where it was. In the end, I found it and it was all good. I left the house and just as I got to the end of my road, it started raining. Not a lot, but a bit. I didn't have time to go back for an umbrella and it's only a five minute walk to the train station, so I thought I'd be okay. But after I'd walked just a little further down the road, it started raining. A lot. Like, so much it was actually hurting my skin. And I was wearing a skirt. But I really didn't have time to go back, so I just wrapped my cardie around myself and ran to the train station.

After sitting through the entire film, I had to go to the toilets to dry my cardie under a hand-dryer because it was still wet. By the time I got home, my skirt was still wet. It was ridiculous. And both my friends were completely dry. It was not fun times.

And then, on the way home, we were harassed by this Irish guy on the other platform. I was eating a bag of Mini Cheddars (because cinema nachos just aren't filling enough) and when I finished them, I smoothed out the bag and folded it up which is something I always do. And he called over "Thanks for the crisp" or something like that. I didn't know whether to ignore him, so I did the stupid thing and went, "Pardon?" And then he started rambling on about "Thanks for the potato chip or whatever it was" and I was like, so what, I'm meant to offer my food to everyone on the station, both on my platform and the one on the other side of the train tracks?!?!?!?!?!?! My friend decided that he was saying, "Thanks for inventing crisps" but that made even less sense. And then he was like, "Oh, my train's here now, so bye" and we were like, "Erm...bye?" It was weird.

But Hannah Montana was very enjoyable.

I'm sorry for this really long ranting blog...but the rain and the Irish guy really irked me (I love that word...'irked', not 'me').

And now I think I'm going to go and buy some dark chocolate, because I've been craving it for about three days now.

I am sooo lucky... *sarcasm*

Have you ever spent an hour and a half in a theatre full of eight-year-olds, all waving those ridiculous spinning light things you buy at bad pantomimes? That is how I spent my afternoon. I think this situation was made worse by the fact that I never got one of those ridiculous spinning light things when I was a child, so I am a little resentful of kids who have them.

Anyway, through no fault of my own, I found myself watching Spongebob Squarepants: the Musical. Yeah. Pity me.

The guy playing Spongebob was like Fred on acid, dressed in a yellow box. The girl playing Sandy (the squirrel, for those lucky few of you who have escaped this knowledge) couldn't do a Texan accent to save her annoying little life. I don't want to comment on the rest of the acting, as I am trying to detox my mind of all thoughts of it.

It was weird. It was scarily upbeat. It made me realise just how short the attention spans of children are. The best bit was the interval, when I got to stand in the ice cream queue with a load of irate parents and their hyper offspring bouncing around my knees (the offspring, not the parents).

On the plus side, I saw a really cute dress in this retro boutique in Liverpool which I might go back and get when I get money.

See you soon

Rain, Jimmy Carr and Leaky Con.

I hate the rain.

I only had to go into school for two lessons today, so I got there at 11 and left again at 12.30. Before I left for school, I looked out the window and thought, "Oh it looks a little grey, but I'm sure it won't rain. I won't take my umbrella, it'll be just another thing to carry." However, on the way home, I got caught in the mother of all rainstorms and ended up having to walk for half an hour with really wet feet. I hadn't been expecting rain and was therefore wearing really inappropriate shoes that actually dyed my feet blue.

Needless to say, I was not best pleased.

However, on the plus side, I saw the strangest person ever on the way home. At first, I thought it was a girl because it had very skinny legs in white skinny jeans. But when I got closer and saw its face, it looked exactly like Jimmy Carr. With a mullet. It was a very strange experience.

More sad times: my friend Ellie left for Leaky Con today. It's not that sad for her, obviously. But I am very very very very very very very very very very very very very very jealous. Especially since tomorrow she will be having fun in Boston, and I will be doing my English Lit exam. So she'd better have a really good time, or she doesn't deserve to have gone and I should've been there instead.

See you soon

Interviews and Eurovision

Aloha, world!

I had my first job interview yesterday. It was scary times. On the plus side, it was probably the scariest job interview I will have to do in the next few years. It was for this kids' party place that do themed parties, like High School Musical and Disney Princess, and they were looking for entertainers for the parties. So basically, it's dressing up and playing party games and stuff for a living. Plus, it's only on weekends, the parties only last about two hours and the pay is pretty damn good. And even if it wasn't well-paid, it's more money than I'm being paid at the moment (which is exactly nothing).

Anyway, I didn't have a clue what to expect when I arrived (having never been to a job interview before, and especially not one for a themed party place). There were about fifteen people there to start with, but people dropped out at each stage of the interview process and we ended up with about nine people who were willing to act, dance and sing. Basically, we had to do a little roleplay of a game that we'd do with the kids, followed by learning the 'We're All In This Together' from High School Musical. It was during the dance section that most people left, as soon they found out that they had to perform the dance on their own. Then, literally minutes before they were about to start the individual auditions, they told us that we were all expected to sing a little bit on our own. At that point, the last of the leavers left.

I was the third person they auditioned. I got in there, was given the option of having one of the staff do the dance with me and declined it, and was told that I was the first person to do it on their own. Then they asked me to sing, but my mouth had gone completely dry so I was given a glass of water, which I drank as slowly as possible while I decided what to sing. Eventually, I sang the opening of 'My Junk' from Spring Awakening, as I'd been listening to it whilst getting ready to go to the interview and therefore had it stuck in my head. It was the best singing audition I've ever done, and my voice didn't go weird like it normally does when I sing in front of people. I was then told that I was the only person so far who hadn't turned to face the back wall to sing. So that was good. They're going to back to everyone within a week *fingers crossed*.

The other thing I'm going to mention in this is Eurovision. Obviously, if you're not in Europe, you probably won't have seen it and might not even know what it is. Google it, I can't be bothered explaining. I was happy with Norway winning (that guy with the violin was SO CUTE!), but Germany should've got more points than they did. Dita von Teese was in their act, for goodness' sake! And the UK came 5th! That is amazing, considering how far down the scoreboard we normally come. So yes, overall a very good night, consisting of me and my friend mocking all the songs that weren't in English and eating ice cream.

I'm sorry if this blog post is of no interest to anyone, but that's what's been happening to me recently. Yay.

Hello interwebs.

This is my first ever blog entry...exciting, isn't it? Or it would be, if I had anything fun, engaging or even remotely interesting to write. I'm sorry, but nothing particularly blog-worthy happens in my life. This is really just another form of procrastination, which is just what I need with my exams starting in a couple of weeks.

As I said, nothing really worth blogging about happens, so if you want to waste your life reading my vaguely coherent ramblings...feel free. And to start off this wonderful (?) adventure into the world of blogging, I'm going to be really dull and just introduce myself.

I'm Hannah, I'm 16 and I live in England, UK. I'm in Year 12/Lower Sixth (which will mean nothing to anyone outside the UK...whatever school year/grade you're in when you're 16 or 17) and as I've mentioned, my exams start really soon. I'm studying English Lit, Drama, Media Studies and History. I'm a huge nerd and have an addictive personality - I can't just like something, I have to obsessively fangirl all over it. I'm a musical theatre freak, but I'm pretty open-minded about music...I'm willing to give anything a chance. I love acting, singing, dancing - being generally dramatical. I play the violin and the viola, and I'm trying to teach myself the guitar but that's not going well at all. I love reading and writing as well, but I don't have much time for that recently.

And I'm not going to write any more about myself for now. I don't want to be really boring, and if there' s anything else you need to know, I imagine you'll find out along the way.

Well...that was fun. This is going to be a really awkward ending, like the way I end most of my vlogs - oh yeah, I'm a YouTuber as well. Not a good or well-known one...but I'm on there.

Anyway...yeah...

See you soon
