[insert witty blog title here]

This week looks set to be one of the most random ever.

Yesterday, it was just a normal school day and to be honest, I can't really remember much of what happened.

Today, all of Lower Sixth went on a trip to the University of Central Lanchashire. It was such a good day - all the students were really nice and the campus is lovely. The food was awesome, which is such a change after our school canteen. And the library has showers in it! Because it's open 24 hours a day, they provide showers in case you're there all night and then have to run off to a lecture. I thought that was fricking genius. The media facilities at UCLan are kickass as well. They have TV studios and sound stages and a Mac suite and all sorts. The twenty or so of us who were doing the Media taster course got to make a sample TV programme, with all of us doing different jobs like operating the graphics and VT, mixing the audio and the visuals, floor managing and operating the cameras. At the end, I have to say, it looked pretty darn spiffy (I was mixing the visuals, which involved pressing the buttons to cut between cameras...it doesn't sound particularly difficult, but it was stressful as hell!)

Tomorrow, it's just another school day...bit pointless really, because no one will concentrate.

Thursday, our year's meant to be on a trip to Alton Towers but obviously not everyone can go. Some people can't afford it, some people didn't want to go and some people (like me) have prior commitments which start before the Alton Towers people get back (dancing show dress rehearsal). The people who aren't going don't get to do anything fun or even mildly interesting - we have to sit in the library. All day. With our Head of Year doing a register to make sure everyone's there. So even when we would've been free, we would still have to stay there. As my English teacher said, "Doesn't that sound a little like prison to you?". I suspect a lot of people not going on the trip will be mysteriously ill on Thursday.

Friday, again, a whole year trip to Liverpool University for a Higher Education conference. That should be fun.

I'm sorry for wasting your life with yet another boring and pointless blog. When something more interesting happens, I'll write about that. On the plus side, I finished watching Juno for the fourth time since I borrowed the DVD last week. I love that film.

Bye
